April 4th, 2007 — Preparations for Planting
It's been a busy and productive winter and we're thrilled to see the calendar flip to April. The greenhouse is filling up by the day and we hope to start planting on or around the 8th of April. Many thanks to the volunteers and Fernbrook staff who have helped to get the farm off to a good start.
January 23rd, 2007 — Garlic Is In The Ground!
Thank you to all who came out to the farm for our first ever work day! About 10 of us planted 75 pounds of garlic seed which should be ready for harvest in mid-summer. We got a break in the rain right after Thanksgiving — it felt more like May than November. But we enjoyed the mild weather and many hands got the job done in about 4 hours. Thanks for your help and we look forward to all that great garlic in 2007 (Does garlic keep the Jersey Devil away???)
